Alaska Vacation in June
Dick and I went to Anchorage to visit Geoff and Kathy, who live in Anchorage and to see their newly remodeled home. We also went on a short trip to Girdwood to the Alyeska Ski Resort, and to Homer, AK.
Here are a few photos from that vacation:
This is the view across the Cook Inlet. We drove along the way and further south toward Homer. It was a 5 hour drive through the mountains, so we stayed over one night in Homer, to have a little more time to explore.
We had a great dinner here in Homer, overlooking the harbor and shipyards. We explored the little tourist shops and brought a few things back for friends. The views are so wonderful.
This is the view from the top of the ski hill at Girdwood. We took the tram up, and it was an awesome view.
Thanksgiving Outing and Christmas Visit
Karen and Richard, along with sons Chris and Geoff and Daughter-in-law Kathy, went to Cincinnati to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 2010. Geoff and Kathy treated the whole family to the Wonderful Experience!!
Trip to Homer, AK
I have not seen a more beautiful place than Alaska. We went to visit our son and his wife, and realized why we love to visit this place.
This is the view as we were approaching Homer, the Halibut Fishing Capital of the world. Below is another
view of the scenery along the Cook Inlet, a little ways out of Anchorage. For more images from Alaska, look
into the "Family" tab on the website, and I will be adding more in coming days.
